Breast Milk Shipping

Wendy’s has adjusted the Travel/Expense policy to help support working moms. Recent new mothers (within 24 months of giving birth) who need to travel overnight for business will have a $80/day reimbursement allowance for breast milk shipping services. Normal Travel/Expense policy rules apply, so be sure to save any receipts to submit with your report.

  • Eligibility: After 30 days of service
  • Financial assistance: Wendy’s supports employees adopting children by providing financial assistance of up to $30,000 per adopted child.
  • Leave assistance: Employees who qualify for Adoption Leave will receive four (4) weeks of paid Adoption Leave at 70% of their base weekly salary (overtime, bonus and other special compensation are not included). Employees who wish to take advantage of the Adoption Leave benefit must do so within six (6) months from when the child is placed with the employee for adoption.

Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (DCFSA)

The Dependent Care FSA is there to help you save on expenses related to caring for your dependents. Each year, you can contribute up to $5,000 (min. $100) or $2,500 if you are married and filing taxes separately.1 You can contribute to this account even if you aren’t enrolled in any other Wendy’s benefits.

Eligible expenses include day care expenses for your children and for your mentally or physically disabled dependents of any age so you or your spouse can work, look for work or attend school full-time. You may be reimbursed for:

  • Babysitters or companions, including relatives over age 19 whom you do not claim as tax exemptions who care for your dependents,
  • Education expenses, such as nursery school, for children not yet in first grade, or
  • Day camp expenses for children under age 13.

Typically, at the end of the year, any money remaining in your account is forfeited so it’s important to choose your contributions carefully.

1Highly Compensated Employees (HCEs) are ineligible to contribute to a Dependent Care FSA. For questions on your eligibility please contact Benefits@Wendys.com.
