Our commuter and parking benefit program helps you save money on your commute. Here’s how it works.
- First, you set aside money from each biweekly paycheck to pay for eligible commuter and parking expenses. Eligible expenses include public transit and parking costs, whether you park near your work location or at a transit station. In 2024, you can set aside up to $315 for transit and parking expenses per month. The money is taken out of your paycheck before taxes are calculated — reducing your taxable income and saving you money. If your monthly expenses exceed the limit, you can choose to purchase additional passes with your personal credit card.
- Then, you use that money to purchase commuter or parking passes through My.BenefitsNow.com. Log in, click Available Benefits, click Parking Benefit Program or Commuter Benefit Program, then select How Do I Order from the menu options. You may choose to:
- Purchase a prepaid check, card or vouchers that you can use to pay for public transit or parking expenses.
- Purchase Metro Cards, Smart Cards or Ride Ticket Books.
- Pay your parking provider directly.
Don’t Miss the Deadline
You must place your order by the 10th of each month to have a transit or parking pass available for the following month. For example, January 10 is the last day to purchase February commuter and parking passes. Please note: The Long Island Railroad (LIRR) and Metro North transit authorities have an early order deadline of the 4th of each month.
