Annual Enrollment (or your initial enrollment period, if you are a new hire) is the only time of year you can make changes to your benefits or who you cover, unless you experience a qualified life event, which includes:
- Marriage, divorce, legal separation
- Start or end of eligible Domestic Partnership
- Birth or adoption of a child
- Death of a spouse or child
- Change in residence or work location that affects benefits eligibility rules
- Your child(ren) or your Domestic Partner’s child(ren) meets (or fails to meet) eligibility rules (for example, your child reaches age 26 and is no longer eligible for coverage)
- You or one of your covered dependents gain or lose benefits coverage due to a change in employment
If you have a qualified life event, go to My.BenefitsNow.com and click “Make A Change” within 60 days of when your life event occurred. All changes must be consistent with the life event. For example, if you have a baby, you can add a dependent but cannot drop one. Your new enrollment will then remain in effect for the rest of the year.
