Important!
You must enroll within 30 days following your date of hire or the date you became eligible for benefits. Your initial enrollment period is the only time of year you can make changes to your benefits or who you cover, unless you have a qualified change in status because of a life event like a marriage, birth, adoption or death.
Top 6 Things to Know About Wendy’s Benefits
1. You must enroll within the first 30 days of the date you became eligible for benefits.
There are two periods in which you may become eligible for Wendy’s benefits:
- 1-Year Anniversary — When you have reached your 1-year anniversary with Wendy’s, we will review your average hours worked. If you averaged 30 or more hours per week during your first year of employment, you will be eligible to enroll in benefits.
- Annual Enrollment — Every October, we will determine if you averaged 30 or more hours per week over the past year. If so, you will be eligible to enroll in benefits for the upcoming plan year.
Your benefit elections will take effect on the 31st day after you become eligible.
2. Save big with medical premium discounts!
Here are some quick and easy ways to save on your medical premiums throughout the year:
- Sign up for Sydney Health and you’ll receive a $5 medical premium discount each biweekly paycheck. Sydney Health puts everything you need to manage your health care in one place. Learn more about Sydney Health.
- Certify the tobacco-free status of you and any covered family members (or commit to a smoking cessation program) during the online enrollment process to save an additional $10 each biweekly paycheck. Your enrollment is your only opportunity to certify your status, so don’t forget! You cannot change your status during the year. if you quit— that’s great. You will be eligible for the discount the next year.

3. Maximize your Health Savings Account.
If you enroll in a Wendy’s medical plan, you’ll have access to a tax-advantaged account called a Health Savings Account, or HSA, that you can use to pay for eligible health care expenses. Wendy’s makes a contribution to your HSA, and you have the option to contribute money to your account, too — for expenses now and in the future. Plus, Wendy’s will match your HSA contributions dollar- for-dollar up to $1,000 per year! Learn how to make the most of your HSA.
4. Wendy’s will help you save for retirement.
Saving with your Wendy’s 401(k) is a convenient way to prepare for the future — Wendy’s will match part of your contributions to help you prepare even more. You can enroll in the Plan or change your contributions at any time. Understand how the 401(k) Plan works.
5. Get the right care in the right setting.
In partnership with Anthem, Wendy’s offers you options for convenient and affordable care when you can’t make it to the doctor’s office: Nurseline, LiveHealth Online, Virtual Primary Care and Hinge Health.
- With NurseLine, speak privately with a registered nurse anytime, day or night, at no cost to anyone enrolled in our medical plan. Learn more.
- With LiveHealth Online, consult with a board-certified doctor through a video consultation from your smartphone, tablet or computer (with a webcam). This option is open to ALL employees. 6. Take advantage of optional Vision coverage.
Non-benefits-eligible employees have access to a vision plan option through VSP. If interested in this option, you’ll enroll for coverage directly with VSP and you’ll pay your premiums directly to VSP. Learn more.
